Barrels of Fun Launches Winchester Mystery House Pinball
This week sees the return of Pinball Expo, and with that, we get some new game announcements. One company that has certainly been behind some interesting designs (and the only pinball manufacturer who doesn’t put “pinball” into their name) is Barrels of Fun. Earlier this year they did DUNE, and now they’ve taken a different tack with Winchester Mystery House. Let’s take a look.
What is the Winchester Mystery House?
Before we get into the game, it might be helpful to know what the theme is all about. This is not an original-from-scratch creation, but is based upon a famous “haunted house” located in San Jose, CA. It once belonged to William & Sarah Winchester, William being the heir to the Winchester Repeating Arms company who was behind a brand of famous firearms. After William died from tuberculosis, Sarah took it upon herself to work on the house, using her fortune, eccentric ideas about architecture, and a large dose of fear of dark spirits to build a true curiosity that was meant to confuse such specters. Here’s a quick rundown of what the house is from the History Channel.
The Winchester Mystery House Pinball Machine
Designed by Karl Deangelo, this pinball machine takes various elements from the home’s lore (minus the 500~ rooms), and incorporates it into what looks to be a fascinating and fun game:
For the features, the shop page has some bullet points, then we’ll follow up with the flyer. The the changing halls and the Pepper’s Ghost effect look rather interesting:

The cabinet is being limited to 525 units, and there is only one model type, which is being sold MSRP at $11,600 (plus any tax+freight).
This will be in Chicago at Pinball Expo 2025, then will be making its way out there into the wild before too long. That said, at this price and those production numbers, a majority of these will likely be found in personal collections. What do you think about it from what’s been revealed?
