The internet went all ablaze last week when Stern Pinball finally teased that their next major release would be the long rumored Pokémon, based upon the ultra-famous franchise of the same name. This did confuse a lot of fans who know nothing about pinball, which I sort of addressed here, but today, the company fully rolled out the details. Let’s discuss.
Manufacturer: Framework Price: $849–$3,545 ($1,582 as tested) Link: https://frame.work/laptop13 I’m writing this review on a Framework 13, the coolest-looking computer I’ve used. It’s a comfortable size, with a sleek aluminum exterior and generously sized trackpad. It easily handled CAD modeling, CAM calculating, and slicing for various digi-fab machines during testing. And none of that is the point. Probably the first thing spectators will notice is the translucent bezel around the 3:2 screen. That’s closer to the point, but...
Arduino Team — February 12th, 2026 When you buy a 3D scanner, it will probably come with a turntable to spin the subject part and help you get a consistent scan from all sides. But almost all of those turntables are flimsy, shaky, and lack any fixturing provisions for parts, diminishing their utility. That’s why Chris Borge used an Arduino to build the ultimate turntable for 3D scanning. Borge is a rising star in the YouTube...
Wave your hand once over Lumanoi, and it’s clear why Robert Quattlebaum’s flowing LED artwork was highly recommended at Maker Faire Bay Area.
Now that we’re a few months removed from IAAPA 2025, it’s normal that many of the games seen there are finally starting to reach production. Today, we have a big update on JET Games USA, where almost everything they put on display is now available in north America. Let’s take a look.
What does a decade of dedicated makerspace programming in a public school district look like? Recently, we talked with Dain Elman, the Instructional Coach for STEM, makerspace teacher, and School Maker Faire coordinator at Gurnee District 56 Schools, about an hour north of Chicago near(ish) the Western shore of Lake Michigan. Gurnee District 56 is as unique as anywhere, but has many qualities that make it emblematic of other suburban school districts across the country. Its roughly 1800 students attend...
Arduino Team — February 10th, 2026 That shiny new Arduino UNO R4 board that you got has quite a bit of power under the hood, thanks to its Renesas RA4M1 Cortex-M4 microcontroller. It has more than enough power to run games and one great way to take advantage of that is by building Szymon Kubica’s MicroBox handheld console. The MicroBox design should be suitable for both the UNO R4 Minima and UNO...
School City of Hammond, a school district just south of Chicago on the Illinois border, launched its first Maker-Faire to come together and celebrate the skills of students and staff. The theme was to celebrate a season of making to welcome in the holiday and winter season and provide an opportunity for the community to purchase holiday themed student-made crafts. The event provided a unique platform for students to test their entrepreneurial spirits, allowing them to market their creations, manage...
Have you ever seen a drone flying and wondered who designed it? How would you feel if that designer was a child? How would you feel if your drone flight inspired a young girl to love STEM? This is Elaine’s and her team’s goal. Elaine has been working as a research and development, QA Chemist with regulatory knowledge for 10 years. She fell into science education through informal STEM instruction, eventually making the transition into formal education. Elaine has...
