Bubsy Paws Into Pinball (Updated!)

Atari has been on a retro kick lately, grabbing the rights to all sorts of forgotten classic IP, including the failed 1990s gaming mascot Bubsy. Working to rehabilitate his image is no easy task, and while this has included the Bubsy Purrfect Collection and Bubsy 4D (which I have played), now they’re giving pinball a show by teaming up with Chicago Gaming to grace our presence with the Bubster!

The First And Only Bubsy Pinball Table

Bubsy is a character and series with an… interesting past, and as a platformer, not exactly the kind of game you would find in arcades outside of a limited window in the late 1980s (yes, and an exception here and there). Thus, becoming a pinball machine is the logical step for bringing him into the arcade space.

While often pinball teasers show nothing more than the name, there is a press release here that gives us some details and a cabinet shot. We don’t have a look at the playfield yet, and it’s too bad that Chicago did not appear at Amusement Expo to show this off, although it wasn’t at the Texas Pinball Festival either:

While we didn’t exactly get a press release about it, we did receive this e-mail rundown, which provides some details. It doesn’t say who the designer is, which I assume will be forthcoming, along with video of the gameplay. Sharing this without an edit:
